UNITED METHODIST WOMEN:

What are we looking forward to?

The church has sent 50 childbirth kits to UMCOR West Depot in Salt Lake City as part of the Desert Southwest Conference mission project this year.  Parish Nurse Jan Johnson went far beyond half way with her support and encouragement of the project.  Our special thanks go to Miriam Moore for finishing blankets for kits.

June Shupert who serves as Education and Interpretation Coordinator for the unit will be presenting the World Thank Offering program at 10:30AM on Tuesday, November 8.  A luncheon is offered following the program and our session is concluded by noon.   Ask someone to attend who will not bring up the subject of joining a new group on her own, much less go into an unfamiliar group alone.   We can offer education and interpretation on our spending and learn together.  It will be interesting to find out where the money goes

United Methodist Women from the former Los Arcos church brought their night circle to share with women of the church.  They started in September and are gathering again at 7:00PM on November  14.  Mary Circle invites  you to be part of their group which meets on most third Mondays at 7:00PM in members’ homes.  Circle Coordinator Betty Brewer will gladly provide meeting information and answer your questions.  You may call her at 480-945-6709.

Elizabeth Circle Coordinator Ilah Pickrell has arranged a “Getting to Know You” session with Reverend Kristopeit and the circle on Tuesday, November 15, at 9:30AM in the Activity Center.  Ilah will welcome your phone call at 480-947-0612.

In 2010 the Aces group from Coronado High School entertained us with a lovely musical program and Vice President Nancy Schofield was successful in scheduling them to return

for the Christmas program for all women of the church on Tuesday, December 13, at 7:00PM.  Mark your calendars because you really don’t want to miss the concert and the renowned traditional refreshments served by the Lydia  remnant.

We have plenty of time to prepare for School of Christian Mission in July, 2012, by recruiting

a young woman or teenager whom we can propose  for a full scholarship to the school.  Envision a daughter, granddaughter, niece, friend or neighbor who would be wonderfully blessed to be able to attend School of Christian Mission.

Let’s start  now and work together as we become a truly supportive group of believers.
