In her fourth year as a teacher at SUMCP & K, Marin believes in letting children be children, and helps them explore their world through play. She has three main goals for her class of three and four year olds; to learn how to resolve conflicts, to discover how to be self reliant, and how to be a good friend. Mastery of these skills is a life long process, and Marin’s hope is that her students will leave her class with at least a running start.

Marin has a degree in Information Technology, as well as education in Early Childhood education. Her passion is working with young children, and she is willing to try just about anything to engage a child. Don’t be surprised if you walk into her classroom and the children are riding tricycles through paint or tossing rolls of toilet paper around. She also enjoys cooking with her class; she and the class determine what would be fun to make. All of these experiences lend themselves to learning about science, math and start them down the road to reading.

Marin is almost a native of Arizona, and has been married for twelve years. She has three children; Sawyer, 11; Kellan, 8; and Rhys, 5. All are SUMCP & K alums, Rhys is attending Mrs. Epp’s Kindergarten this year. She is also the auntie to many. She nurses obsessions for The Wiggles and Def Leppard; in her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family, or simply doing nothing.
